Therma-Tru’s roots extend back to 1962 when David Welles, a recently retired Owens Corning exec bought out a bankrupt building supply company out of Toled0, Ohio. Then twenty years later the company launched its flagship Fiber-Classic product, the very first fiberglass door of its kind.
Deke Welles, the son of Therma-Tru’s founder and President from 1989-2001 exclaimed, “People just couldn’t believe it, the product that looked so good was actually made of fiberglass.”
